European Press Prize 2020

The Covid-19 pandemic called for a shift to online platforms for many events, including the European Press Prize award ceremony in 2020. Are We Europe took on the task of organizing an engaging virtual ceremony, collaborating with the European Press Prize to develop an innovative concept: the drumscroll. This interactive website revealed the award-winning stories dynamically as visitors explored it.

Our team collaborated closely with Are We Europe and the EPP in order to create a series of visuals that would accompany the winning stories. While Are We Europe was producing the podcasts, our team worked with an illustrator, an animator, 5 composers and 5 musicians to create 5 short animated pieces that could accompany the podcasts visually and musically. This resulted in five captivating animated pieces that brought the winning stories to life through a blend of journalism, visual and musical storytelling.
